After John died, I found a number of journals and notebooks that I didn't know existed. As I began reading them, I was amazed at how profoundly insightful they are, especially for one so young. John thought a great deal about deep and eternal things. His maturity was far beyond his young years and I've found myself wanting to share these wonderful thoughts with others. I hope you enjoy them, and feel yourself wanting to be a little better because of them. He may not be with us, but his influence and example will always be... until we are once again reunited with him. Thank you John, for leaving me a little piece of you. You are, and always will be, amazing in my eyes.

[Book 1] Apr. 7, 1990 Saturday

Last week I was baptiszed. It was fun. It started out that, Dad started talking then we sung a song. Then my sister gave a talk. My mom sang a song called, "Baptism." Then it was time for the baptism. My Dad and I practiced one more time before we got in the water. Then it was time. I went into the font. Then he said a kind of prayter. And He dunked me under And I came back up. I did'nt even look at the people! I got dressed and went out to the room where they were watching a show called, Man "search for happiness". After that brother Melton gave a talk on the "Holy Ghost". Then we sang another song, I am a child of God. Then my Dad welcomed me into the ward and gave me the book of mormon. And that was the end of the baptism. It was the special thing that ever happend or that I ever wrote in m diary.
